Taking over in March brought its fair share of challenges. The course was coming out of winter under drought conditions since the previous year (2024), with no working irrigation and greens that simply weren’t taking on water or nutrition. Problems began to show quickly, so it was clear some serious cultural work needed to start right away.
Aeration, wetting, and soil recovery must become the immediate focus — building the foundations for stronger, more responsive turf going forward. It wasn’t an easy start, but essential steps were taken to get the course heading in the right direction with the procurement of some much needed machinery.
