February has continued January’s biblical trend of rainfall. To date, we have already recorded 125mm, including 64mm in a single 24-hour period — enough to close the course for two consecutive days – our wetlands are now at capacity and ground water levels need to drop before they can slowly percolate into the sand profile.

One thing that has remained consistent, however, is the performance of the greens.
Despite the continued deluge, the greens have come through the cold, saturated spell exceptionally well. Surface performance has remained strong, plant health is good, and they are in a solid position to be developed as we move into the main growing season. Recovery has been clean, with no significant setbacks — a testament to the preparation work carried out earlier in the early summer/ autumn of 2025.
Between weather windows, the team have also managed to complete a full mow from tee to green, maintaining presentation standards whenever conditions have allowed.
Rain may have dominated the narrative, but resilience — both from the surfaces and the team — has defined February.
